- What happened according to plan? I used a test-teach-test pattern for diagnosing the previous lesson's TL before practising. I clarified MPF. We practised the TL using slips of paper, working as a group. Ss listened to the tape 'describing people' and checked off adjectives. We discussed expressions for personalities.
- What didn’t happen according to plan? I wrote up a 'word list' again on the board to help elicit and clarify key vocabulary. I started a guess-the-word game using the vocabulary the Ss had reviewed for homework, and then a discussion (5 min) about the final activity, as a way to buy time until our std. arrived. When the std. arrived we took the opportunity to practise the paper-slip task again and he completed the gap-fill (the teach only part of the test-teach-test stage), I then marked it and gave feedback.
- What happened that I didn’t
expect? Std arrived late but left message in advance
- What would I do differently next time, and why? I hadn't anticipated/ planned CCQs for some key vocabulary that otherwise would have run more smoothly = always plan for any key language of the lesson.
